Will I be receiving a debit card instead of a stimulus check?
At the time of this post, the Department of Treasury has said that they’ll begin providing some debit cards by mail to people rather than checks. An estimated 4 million people will receive their stimulus payments in the form of a debit card, which may be faster than receiving it by a paper check. These debit cards can be activated relatively instantly and can be used for purchases, ATM withdrawals, or to transfer funds into another bank account free of charge, as stated by the Treasury.
