Confused mom needs help

Congratulations on your new child!! In my opinion, since stimulus checks are based upon 2018/2019 taxes, hence you won't be able to apply for stimulus for your baby born this year. You probably have to wait till next year to get a stimulus check for your newborn.
P.S. - I am not a tax professional. This is based upon my knowledge of surfing IRS websites and other articles.

Checking with a tax attorney should help. However here’s what I found on internet:
https://money.com/stimulus-check-wrong-amount/As per this, you should receive a letter 15 days after stimulus check from IRS containing information on how to contact IRS for payment errors.

Hi Trish Wheeler and Ravindra Gupta. The stimulus payment is considered an advance of a recovery rebate, which you would normally claim on your 2020 return. If you qualify for the rebate, and if you do not get part or all of what you are entitled, please speak to your tax preparer to see if you can claim the rebate on your 2020 taxes. This government-sponsored page by former Congressman Paul Cook outlines the details, as does this government-sponsored page by the CRS. (Here is the definition of the legitimacy of the CRS, taken directly from their site: "By law, CRS works exclusively for Congress, providing timely, objective, and authoritative research and analysis to committees and Members of both the House and Senate, regardless of political party affiliation.")
